Four Sisters for Planthroposcene celebrates reciprocal human-plant-soil relations. In an indoor film and sound installation, focusing on maize and the three sisters companion planting, seeds are bathing in sound and waiting to be planted. During the Spring, a garden will take shape in the court yard of the museum where other companion planting techniques will also be highlighted. The garden will host various events and guests, starting with a soil celebration in April in collaboration with Humus economicus, a planting celebration in late May focusing on what we can learn from plants, and a harvest festivity in September focusing on food.

The Soil Celebration is a tribute to the soil and all the soil care workers in the city and its hinterlands. The workshop is part of the artwork Four Sisters for Planthroposcene. During two days, (P)Art of the Biomass visited urban farms, community gardens, and other soil related initiatives to meet soil stewards and to talk about living soils and sustainable relations. The participants donated soil from which coins were made. These soil coins have now become part of the growing site in the courtyard of Malmöhus Castle – a castle that once was the site for a more conventional coin production.
